Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Metris Vans Camp
Nestled in the mountains of Colorado, OSK transformed the old mining town resort, into a featured setting to introduce the new Metris Van and showcase the adaptability of the Sprinter line to US Media. Continuing the tradition of distinctive drive events that match the character of the test vehicles with the environment in which they are presented, OSK played off the ruggedness of the Sprinter and Metris Vans to create an off-beat excursion. The two-day program included test drives, off-roading in Sprinter 4x4s, group presentations, product exhibitions, and demonstrations of the new vehicles and other up-fitted Sprinter versions.
The challenge for OSK was to combine the standards from Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes Vans in a completely remote, rugged outdoor area with no cell reception or internet access and a very restricted amount of guest and staff accommodations. Winding dirt roads leading to the resort, snowy set-up days, plus cold nights challenged the production, but ultimately lead to the appeal of the event.
Choosing an exclusive remote location allowed for a small intimate group format and all guests received special attention by the Mercedes-Benz team and staff. Aside from giving the press journalist the ability to test out multiple Sprinter and Metris formats, the journalist were able to experience locale centric activities such as fly-fishing, horseback riding, and evening campfires.
